If you have a fine-tipped marker pen, like a Sharpie, you can write the connector numbers on the white plastic plugs when you unplug the leads. I also write on the circuit-boards, take notes and photos to make sure I can get it all back together! Another thing I have had to do with this instrument is to change the backup battery. It is a 3V lithium coin cell. I fitted a holder so it will be easier to change next time. This is such a fantastic instrument but I was having trouble reading the LCD display too. I will definitely be buying the components and having a go at fixing mine. I really appreciate the detailed instructions and photos, such an awesome find, thanks!

Raymond @ CKS Global Solutions LTDRaymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12986518680662365156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475861040735219044.post-7756646651890731932016-05-26T22:01:53.824-07:002016-05-26T22:01:53.824-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12986518680662365156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475861040735219044.post-10519217131626861612016-04-01T13:27:13.096-07:002016-04-01T13:27:13.096-07:00Thanks. The DX7 has more operators, but they can only be sine wave ... not sure which is best! FM synths excel at making metallic sounds, like chimes and bells. I just enjoy playing it from time to time.Hugh M0WYEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12188898771091049802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475861040735219044.post-7628216915614676202016-03-30T13:31:55.346-07:002016-03-30T13:31:55.346-07:00Hello, if you look here:

These guys are a great company and I've replaced several displays in my synths using their displays. I need to really check out the DX11 and see how the sounds are compared to the DX7. Props on fixing that LCD screen. That looks like something that would be way too hard for me to do.

Brian Hopkins @ Microtips USABrian Hopkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01948269233959426084noreply@blogger.com
